La Solitude has four gardens, one of which is communal. Let's talk about the first two which are in front of La Manne and the other next to the Thabor. These two gardens are used to feed the people who stay at La Solitude. We need volunteers to take care of them. Register with the Coordinator Étienne, and above all, take charge. The third, at the first entrance, is the coordinator's private garden.
As for the Eco-Sol Community Garden, it is in the field at the entrance to La Solitude - you will see a baby barn and a field well plowed by Joe Breau. A team of volunteers is leading this project and the current members are Euclide Chiasson, Roméo Cormier, Paul Soucy, Étienne Bédard, Guillaume Fortin and Linda Varner. Others involved are Joe Breau, Rino Lacombe, Guy Gautreau (thanks for the soil test!), François Leblanc and Véronic Cormier. Other advisers should be mentioned: Peter Schroder and Larry Schut.
There is plenty to do in the sun and in the shade! Know that this project is for the long term. It was decided that soil regeneration would be required this year with greens that will naturally enrich the soil over a large part of the garden. A fenced section is at your disposal if you want to plant your vegetables.
Notify Paul Soucy (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) if you are interested. This year, participation will be free. If you want to donate vegetables to charities, this is a very good way to get involved.
